Say-What-You-See in a Photograph
Make-Up-a-Story
A good conversation can be had while looking at a photograph together. Start with say-what-you-see in the photo, then ask open ended questions to make a story. Be sure to wait for your child to answer.
I see two boys hiding under a sheet with their stuffed monkey …One boy is acting like a monkey. Tell me about him … Who lives under the sheets? … What are they doing under the sheets today? … Uh oh, I hear someone yelling at the monkey! Who is yelling? What is he yelling about? … Can the boys protect the monkey? … How will they save the monkey?
