At the NAEYC (National Association for Education of Young Children) just before Thanksgiving, there was plenty of buzz about the importance of language development for infants and toddlers. Because they know that children with a big vocabulary are better prepared to succeed in school, teacher training groups like Chicago’s Erikson Institute’s 0-3 Math Project, Chicago’s Open Books and book give-away programs like Arizona’s Make Way for Books bought and distributed large numbers of The Gift of Words to empower their families to give children one of life’s greatest gifts -- the ability to understand what they read.

Check out the website www.talktomemama.com which contains more background information on the book. I can arrange for discounted price, if you contact me before ordering books.
